For parents of a competitive kid or teen

Your kid has the drive. Give them a real floor.

Serious coaching, a real syllabus, and a path to the competition floor for the young dancer who wants more than a recital.

The engineering behind Floorcraft

Sound familiar?

If any of this is you, you are in the right place.

  • Your child is talented, but the studio keeps them in the same recital loop with no real ladder to climb.
  • You are paying for private lessons and still cannot tell if they are actually improving.
  • The competitive kids all seem to train somewhere else, somewhere more serious.

Where this goes

Your child trains with a plan, earns each level, and steps onto a real competition floor knowing they are ready.

  • Coaching from people who have actually competed at a high level.
  • A measurable path with levels, exams, and honest feedback.
  • A room full of driven young dancers who push each other.

Why Canberra School of Dancing

Built to actually get you there.

A real syllabus, so the next figure and the next level are named instead of guessed at.

Coaching that names the standard your child is held to, and what is still missing.

Progress you can see in what your child can actually do, not in how many lessons you bought.

A serious training culture, where the bar is set by the room and not by the recital date.

What we build toward

For the first time I can see exactly what my son is working on and why. He is not just busy, he is getting better.

Good questions

The things people ask first.

How do you decide when my child is ready to compete?

Through the syllabus. A first competition should come after your child can hold the figures and the technique for their level, so it is a step they earned rather than a guess. Ask their coach what is still missing.

Do you offer private lessons on top of group classes?

Serious young dancers usually pair group classes with regular private lessons. Ask about both and a coach will help you find the right mix.

Can we start mid-level if my child already trains?

Yes. Come take a first class and a coach will place your child honestly, whether that is a fresh start or a jump ahead.

Come see it for yourself.

Ask about a first visit at Canberra School of Dancing and see how it feels on the floor.
